14/11/08 Brewers announce new Patron
With much joy and respect it has been announced that Nigel Crutchley has become our new Brewers Patron.
Nigel replaces Don Klaebe who unfortunately passed away recently.
We wish Nigel well in guiding a new 'Era of the Brewers'.

As a member since 1992 it has been accepted the spirit of the Brewers is well documented by looking at Smurf's contributions both on and off the field. It is fitting that Trevor Smerdon, aka SMURF, should be honoured with the 2nd Life Membership for the Brewers.
Brewers take Silver in Alice Springs 2008
After the usual exhausting week and finishing the minors on top we took on the Golddiggers, unfortunately 1 tired inning cost 12 runs and we went down with a fighting 7-12 finish.
Well done Golddiggers.

Brewers go down in SABL Monday Night Comp Final 3 - 6
Following a slow start and a welcomed competitive summer season, the 'Monday Night Brewers' ( who moved from last after 6 rounds to top after 12 ) could not maintain the momentum in the Grand Final going down to disciplined Goodwood Chiefs. Congratulations to the Chiefs !

AUSTRALASIAN MASTERS GAMES Oct 2007 - Adelaide
DOUBLE GOLD !!
Brewers # 2 have won the Gold Medal in the 35+ Social Blue Div with a 8 - 5 win over Cardinals in a very tight competition where they needed to settle 2nd spot on a head to head basis over 5 teams. Brewers finished top after only dropping 1 game earlier in the week. After playing 7 games in 7 days the boys were ready and fired early with 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning and didn't seem to be challenged.
Brewers # 1 have also won the Gold Medal in the 35+ Serious Div with a 9 - 4 win over defending champs the Eagles. This division was also tight going into the last games with any of three teams playing for Gold. The Brewers however did finish top and after 9 games in 7 days showed they were just getting better. The final again saw a great start by a Brewer team and came out firing in the bottom of the first with 6 runs and never looked threatened.

05/03/07 SABL Masters Grand Final
Brewers Win - Summer Masters Grand Final 6 - 1
Following yet another competitive season against Woodville, the teams were again rightfully in the Grand Final against each other. In a repeat performance the Brewers defended their title from the front with 3 runs in the first innings. Led by Darren Roberts on the mound the team started well and played text book baseball showing their experience in big games.
Jan 2007 - Brewers support Under 16 SA State Team
The Brewers recently assisted the under 16 state team with putting Gatorade in our massive Drink Container for the full 10 days of their Australian Championships. This was previously 'ear marked' to be another cost for the parents. We were glad we found out and were able to help the boys in their recovery. ( thank you letter shows in Youth Program Page )

The first Life Membership has been awarded by the Adelaide Brewers !
Following performances both on and off field since 1994 it has been accepted
that David Freak, aka FROG, should be honoured with the first Life Membership for the Brewers.

ALICE SPRINGS 2006 MASTERS
DOUBLE GOLD !
A successful defence of our B1 Gold Medal in 2004 was this year accompanied with our 1st Gold for our second team known as B2.
B2 secured its Gold Medal with a hard fought 7-6 result over local team, the Legends, after only dropping one game in eight over six days to finish top in their division.
B1 also only dropping one game in the minors and finishing top in their division, faced Interport again in the final and repeated the 2004 result with a mercy demonstration of 11-1 with game called early to start the Brewers Masters celebrations that went on 'til early morning.
A fantastic result for 2006 and well earned by all coaches and players and our hard working support staff

Brewers Win SummerBall Masters Grand Final 4 - 1
Following a competitive season against Woodville, the teams were rightfully pitted against each for the final. The healthy sized crowd who attended were entertained with a close, high standard game followed by the expected social event to finalise the season. The score was the closest between the two all year as all players rose to the occassion to make this a great final.

Sadly our Manager from 2002, Bert Atkinson, has passed away.
He will be missed by all that knew him, our deepest sympathy goes to his Family and to
the Woodville District Baseball Club on their loss.

GOLD MEDAL TO BREWERS !
Following their solid performance the BREWERS 1 team defeated Interport with a
comprehensive 12 - 2 WIN with the game called early under the mercy rule in
the bottom of the 4th innings with only 2 out.

Brewers WIN Southern Districts Masters Competition undefeated
As preparation for this year's Alice Springs Masters the Brewers rotated all players over 4 games during two days of competition to round off their training.
The final game being against a team created from two other teams to enable a competitive match - resulting in a score 9-5.
Other scores were 11-6, 10-5 & 15-5

Brewer's WIN 2004 Winterball Metro League Grand Final 17-4
Finishing the minor round 3rd, only a half game from top, the team then comprehensively defeated all 3 teams in the finals culminating in a Grand Final exhibition of hitting.
